Using Vintage Caddies in Farmhouse Decor

Wednesday, August 10, 2016

My farmhouse vintage style is just becoming more obsessive by nature. I swear I can't pass a basket or a crate without having some sort of crazy idea of what I want to do with it. They serve many different purposes such as adding texture, storage, and style! I pick up trays, baskets, and crates at antique stores, department stores, & basically anywhere while out junkin'. I want to share with y'all how you can incorporate vintage caddies into your decor to style cute vignettes and serve a purpose. I am doing a link party with some other fellow vintage lovers, make sure to take a stop by their blogs at the bottom to see how they decorate with their caddies! What is a caddy you may ask? Well, it's a small storage container.

As you can see here I use the dough bowl for my vintage books, it creates a cute simple vignette. I've seen dough bowls used in so many ways. They come in many different sizes and can be used for storage depending on how big the bowl!

Using trays for storage is definitely my go-to. I have like a gazillion trays. Some I use for just storage, some for just decoration, but most of the time I will mix functionality & style like above. I put some utensils & cutting boards on this tray but I added a plant for some color.

Tiered trays are really popular and versatile. I see all sorts of tiered trays from wooden, plastic, glass, wire, metal, the list goes on and on! These type of trays are really easy and fun to decorate. You can use them for storing your kitchen stuff or stick it into any room and decorate it,

This ocean spray crate is by far my favorite caddy. It's large, rustic, and fits a couple of our blankets in there. Crates are an easy way to create some storage space and a farmhouse cozy vibe.

I think I have at least one caddy in every room! Can you tell I'm obsessed with storage space and functionality? I try to find ways to help my house look clean but stay cozy and decorated. Caddies are an easy and great way to incorporate farmhouse style into your home. Make sure to check out my other awesome blogging friends and see how they use their vintage caddies!
